iPhone as a Microphone for Soundcore Speakers
Yes, and the right method depends entirely on which Soundcore you own. If it is one of the larger Rave party speakers, it may have a real microphone input jack, and where it does, a cheap wired mic in that jack will beat anything your phone can do. That jack is not on every model in the range, so check the spec sheet for your exact unit before you count on it. If it is a Motion, a Boom, a Flare or a Select, there is no microphone input at all, and sending your phone's mic to the speaker over the Bluetooth link it is already using is the only route left. That works from an iPhone or from an Android phone.
Most people who want to use a phone as a microphone for a Soundcore speaker own the second kind. That route works, on an iPhone and on an Android phone alike. It also arrives late, by an amount you can measure and no app can remove.
Which Soundcore speakers take a real microphone
Anker splits the Soundcore line by job, and the microphone input broadly follows that split. The Rave family is the party range: heavy, light-up, built for a garden and a crowd, and the range where a microphone input turns up at all. Even there it is not universal, and Anker has changed the connector set from revision to revision. Everything else is a playback speaker, and playback speakers do not take microphones.

One honest caveat: Anker ships many variants under each name and revises hardware without renaming it. Do not trust a table on the internet, including this one, over the back of your own unit and the spec sheet that shipped with it. Lift the port cover and look. A microphone input is labelled MIC, and depending on the model that hole may be quarter inch or 3.5 mm; a line input is labelled AUX or LINE IN and is 3.5 mm. If there is no MIC label anywhere under that cover, you are in the app route.

Using an iPhone as a microphone for a Soundcore speaker over Bluetooth
The mechanism is simpler than most people expect. Your iPhone is already connected to the Soundcore for music. A live monitoring app takes the phone's own microphone, applies gain, and plays it back through whatever output iOS has currently selected. If that output is the Soundcore, your voice comes out of the Soundcore. The phone is the microphone; the speaker is just the speaker.
Two things this does not do. It does not pair anything: iOS Settings does the pairing, and no iOS app can, because Apple exposes no public API for pairing a classic Bluetooth audio device. Android is different under the hood, since it does give apps pairing APIs (createBond since API 19, CompanionDeviceManager since API 26), but a pass-through app has no reason to touch them, because it plays into whatever output Android has already selected. So the user does the same thing on both platforms: pair in system settings, then open the app. And it cannot run in reverse. The Soundcore's own microphone, on units that have one for speakerphone calls, cannot be pulled into your phone by an app on the phone.
The setup, in order:
- Pair the Soundcore in Settings, Bluetooth, and play music briefly to confirm the route is live.
- Open the monitoring app or the live monitor page and grant microphone access.
- Start at about 50 percent gain and raise it while someone stands where the audience will.
- Hold the phone a hand's width from your mouth and off to one side. The bottom mic on a phone handles plosives badly at close range, on either platform.
- Walk the room before anyone else arrives, listening for the point where it starts to ring.
What the delay actually costs you
Every Bluetooth audio link buffers. The encoder gathers a block of samples, encodes and transmits, and the receiver holds a jitter buffer before playing. That buffer keeps playback from dropping out when the link stutters, and it sits in the codec and the speaker's firmware, not in any app on the phone. Published figures vary, and the sources genuinely disagree:

Android owners get one lever here that iPhone owners do not. Since Android 8.0 the platform can negotiate AAC, aptX, aptX HD and LDAC on top of mandatory SBC, and Developer options exposes a Bluetooth audio codec picker so you can force one. Two caveats keep expectations honest. Only LDAC's encoder actually ships in AOSP; aptX and aptX HD are proprietary Qualcomm code that each handset maker licenses, so whether your phone offers them depends on the phone, and the Soundcore at the other end has to support the codec as well. And switching codec moves latency somewhat, not dramatically. It will not drop a Soundcore link out of the 100 to 300 ms A2DP band, so measure the result rather than trusting the label.
Ranges are not your number, though. The acoustic loopback latency test plays a short chirp through the speaker, records it back through the mic, cross-correlates the two, runs five times, takes the median, and subtracts the flight time of sound across the distance you give it. What is left is the real round trip on your gear, in your room.
Whether that number ruins the evening depends on the job. Under about 20 ms is unnoticeable. Around 40 to 50 ms is where lips stop matching sound on video. Over about 100 ms it feels like a bad phone call, and singing along gets hard, because monitoring your own voice is far more sensitive to delay than listening to someone else. The Rave mic jack in practice
If your Rave does have a mic jack, use it. A wired microphone into a Soundcore Rave microphone input has no radio hop in the path, so what is left is the speaker's own processing, which is a non-issue for speech and singing. It also sounds better: a dynamic vocal mic held close rejects room noise in a way a phone on a table never will.
What that jack is not is a place to plug your phone. It expects a few millivolts from a dynamic microphone. A phone's headphone output through a dongle delivers several hundred millivolts, which will drive a mic preamp into distortion. If you want to send audio from the phone by wire, use the 3.5 mm AUX input where one exists. That is a line level input and it is the correct destination.
No iPhone since the iPhone 7 has a headphone jack. Any wired route from an iPhone needs a Lightning or USB-C to 3.5 mm adapter first, then a cable. Most current Android flagships dropped the jack too, though budget and mid-range models often keep it, so look at your own phone before you assume either way. Buy the adapter early and test it, because a dongle that has sat in a drawer for two years is a common point of failure.
Feedback, and where to stand
Feedback is the failure that ends parties. Speaker output reaches the phone's microphone, gets amplified, comes out louder, reaches the mic again. Delay makes it worse, because the loop builds over a longer cycle and you hear the howl start before you can react.
Three rules hold on every speaker. Point the Soundcore away from the phone and stand behind it, never in front. Keep gain at the lowest setting that is loud enough. Move rather than turn up, because halving the distance from mouth to mic buys more level than any gain control and adds no feedback risk.
The app watches for the worst version of this. When it reads the live output route and finds the phone's own built-in speaker, it caps gain and warns you, because phone speaker plus phone mic in one handset is a guaranteed loop. What this will not do
- It will not remove Bluetooth delay. Nothing installed on a phone can, because the delay lives in the codec and the receiver's buffer. If you need timing accuracy, go wired.
- It will not turn the Soundcore into a receiver for another device's audio, and it will not hand the speaker's built-in mic to your phone.
- It will not fix a noisy room. A phone microphone at arm's length hears everything, and gain amplifies the room along with the voice.
- It will not pair the Soundcore for you on either platform. The operating system owns pairing, and the app plays into the route the system has already chosen.
What it will do is run on the phone you already own.
